Immigration Solutions are Simple

July 29, 2010

The solution of immigration is simple, first identify the problem. The problem is there is a flow of immigrates from Mexico to America, why?

One reason given is crime and drugs; another is a desire to live the “good life” in America. Both these may account for a small portion of the “illegals” that came across the border. The vast majorities are coming for work and have no desire to be “Americans.”

One note here on capitalism, it system of have and have nots by its very nature. When one compares communism with capitalism the overwhelming difference is the ownership, who owns what. In a capitalist society it is private entities, corporations, trust, individuals that own and run things. There are those who catch the fish, there are those who clean the fish, there are those who cook the fish and there are those who eat the fish. The guy who eats the fish has a better life than the folks “below” him. It is the many working for the few on the presumption that one day one can enter the fraternity of the eaters, the “American dream”. None of this is my opinion or my values; this is simply how the system works.

Now a large part of American see themselves as eaters thanks to the “principles” instituted in them by their education and the atmosphere that is America; catching and cleaning is below them, America is a society of too many haves and not enough have nots. Yet in order for capitalism to flourish there must be a labor pool, a poll of nots, willing to work under extreme conditions and live at poverty levels, it is necessary to insure profits. The more the worker gains, the more the worker shares in the whole, the less capitalistic the system becomes.

And let us be honest when one speaks of capitalism or communism one speaks in a vacuum for there are no such concepts in practice, now or any time in history. Russia from 1917-1989 is called communist, which is okay as long as you understand the disconnection from the term in academia and in practice. Russia from 1917-1989 was a totalitarian state run by a dictator not a communal nation where all were equal, all was not owned by the society as a whole. To view Russia in this light is a mistake, summary executions, ethnic cleansing, genocide, forced starvation and the opulence of the party is not communism. The USSR was no more communist than the West is capitalist, a statement that may seem absurd to those who think they understand, the ones who have accepted the imposed ignorance of our forefathers and accepted it with little scrutiny or with very little attention to facts and history other than to manipulate theses facts as needed for the narrative, their narrative. This position is easily backed up but that will be left for another time.

Back to Immigration and the problem of not enough nots. In order for the fairy tale economy to continue “unprecedented growth” we must have a large pool of nots and fortunately there is a large group of humans willing just south of our border, so why are they not permitted to come legally into this country?

It has nothing to do with “securing the borders”. The notion one needs to secure the borders is level one thinking at best. Ever seen the Sonoran Desert? I have many times and can make this assessment with solid certainty, it is impossible to secure that border, it simply cannot be done. And another point, why? The militarization of the border is never positive; it is path that is best avoided. When mass crossing is the issue we must figure out why not merely stick a finger in a dike.

The current US immigration policy is the issue. The policy is slanted to keep a balance, so that not to many of one country can enter the US in one year. 300,000 is the cap with no more than 20,000 from any one country. So Mexico receives less than 7% of the legal visas for work granted by the US government, yet of the percentage of naturalized citizens last year, over 23% were of Mexican origin. If a Mexican national wishes for a family member to join them, they can, a provision in the immigration law is visas set aside for this purpose, but once again there is a quota. A Mexican has to wait between 30-45 years in order to get a family member to join them in the USA legally, not only is it absurd it is unrealistic. There is a clear disconnect, supply and demand is out of whack.  If free markets were not just lip service and actually followed , this could be corrected but make no mistake there is nothing “free market” about the USA.  If one is willing to call America free market then one is willing to conveniently dismiss or ignore the inconvenient facts of current affairs and history as a whole. The free market system is a unfunny joke. If one is willing to examine events as they occur instead of how they are told, one would see the lack of humor here, the facts and actions are easily visible to any who take the time and make a minimalist effort to understand. This supply and demand inequity is the glaring problem that is labeled “immigration reform” and its solution is simple. US immigration policy needs to be adjusted to compensate for the fact the Mexico is on our door step and is full of nots willing to come and make America “wonderful”.

The problem is simple, there is work north of the border, American needs the nots, to turn them away, to act in the way our leaders are, is a course for conflict and a path that will not end well for any.  We have constructed a system where we place the wrong people in charge, level one (and lower) thinking across the board, once again it takes little effort to confirm this statement.  Stupid and naive is no way to live life or lead humans or run a country.

If you do not identify the problem there can be no solution.
